About This Documentation
This guide describes how to administer and manage a Hammerspace system after it has been installed and licensed. It covers the management interfaces, infrastructure monitoring, client data-access protocols (NFS, SMB, S3), data management features, storage management, user administration, and system maintenance tasks such as backup, restore, and upgrades.
Technology preview features — including TLS end-to-end encryption — are documented in a dedicated section.
This guide is intended for system administrators responsible for the day-to-day operation of a Hammerspace deployment. Readers should be familiar with general storage and networking concepts. For initial installation and licensing, see the Hammerspace Installation and Licensing Guide.
To open a support case, use the Hammerspace Support Hub. To download Hammerspace software and licenses, use the Hammerspace Licensing and Delivery Portal.

Do not install additional or third-party software, agents, or packages directly on Hammerspace Anvil (metadata) or DSX (data) nodes. These nodes run a managed appliance software stack; anything installed outside that stack is unsupported and is removed during a software upgrade. Such software can also interfere with node operation. If you need monitoring or integration with an external tool, contact Hammerspace Support for a supported approach. |
